“The Texture of a Dream”
- Daniel Owl -
The approach to Fjallsárlón is a journey through layers of time. First, the human trace: a solitary wooden cabin and its towering antenna, standing small against a landscape of ancient lava fields cloaked in moss. But as you move forward, the horizon reveals the giant.
The lagoon lay before me, frozen into a complex jigsaw of ice—crystalline pieces locked in a silent embrace, leading the eye toward the colossal tongue of the glacier. There is a strange, magnetic pull here; it feels as if I could reach out and touch the ice, though its scale is beyond comprehension.
The texture of the glacier is like a recurring dream from my past, a memory I couldn’t quite grasp until now. Standing there, feeling the bite of the cold in every breath, the line between reality and imagination blurs. I am no longer dreaming of giants; I am standing among them, witnessing the stillness of a world made of ice.
